Listen to samples of all of the tracks
The collection has a good selection of tunes by the big Blues names; Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf. John Lee Hooker, Elmore James are all represented in some depth, and many other artists who are not as widely known.
IF you are a blues fan, it has many tracks that may be new, if you are new to the Blues it is an excellent introduction. It covers all of the sub-genres accociated with blues music – country blues, delta blues, Chicago blues and more.
The one negative aspect of the compilation is the lack of accurate tags. All tracks are dated as 2011 rather than the actual year of recording, so not much use to anyone who is interested in the history of Blues music.
Apart from that minor issue, this an excellent compilation, with each style and period covered in enough depth to allow for assembling more specific playlists if you are that way inclined. And at a stupidly low price. Each track costs about 4p, which is substantially less than the original records woudl have cost, even back in the 1950’s.
